SocialCoach is a Washington, D.C. based organization set up with the primary goal of teaching, training and connecting seniors on how to use social media technology.

OUR STORY

Austin Lemer, Jordyn Lemer & Lauren Lemer (Co-Founders)

From the time they were young, Austin Lemer, Lauren Lemer and Jordyn Lemer have always had a fascination with technology — iPhones, iPads, computers, digital cameras. Having the skill set and expertise in aiding both our parents, grandparents and various friends of the family to troubleshoot and advise on how to use or set up smartphones, we realized that our skills could be applied to a larger segment of the community.

SocialCoach is a program designed to teach and train seniors on how to use social media platforms and various technologies to stay connected with family, friends, and their broader communities. The program, offered at no cost, is driven by “Social Coach Ambassadors,” small groups of student volunteers who gain valuable service hours while making a positive impact by bridging the digital divide for seniors.
